Besides the international chess tournaments i.e. Singapore Chess Festival and London Chess Classic, that some Malaysian chess players are participating, there are few local chess events during this weekend.
1) In Penang or Pulau Pinang in Bahasa Malaysia, this afternoon at 2.00 o'clock, Penang Chess League will kick off. It is a team event. Besides teams from the Northern region, several teams from Klang Valley will also participate like SMS Gold and Cikgu Zullkafli's family. Click here for more details.
2) In Ipoh, the Perak Chess Closed is on-going at the moment. Co-organized by PICA (Perak International Chess Association) and Perak State Sport & Youth Department, the event is held at Dewan Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Perak. Click here for more details.
GiLoCatur and kids are not participating in any of those events. Initially, GiLoCatur planned to participate in the Penang Chess League, but due to certain circumstance the plan to Penang has to be cancel.
So, GOOD LUCK to all participants in the above two events. Importantly, enjoy your chess games and HAVE FUN PLAYING CHESS as like what Bobby Fischer said, "ALL I WANT TO DO, EVER, IS JUST PLAY CHESS!"
