Anak pedusi sorang. Ayah sentiasa doakan kakak agar dipanjangkan usia dlm ketaatan kpd Allah dan rasul, dimurahkan rezeki, diberi kesihatan dan keselamatan serta jodoh dan pasangan hidup terbaik!

Alhamdulillah. Syukur kepado Allah SWT.

Anak pedusi wakdan dan Nazizah Sulaiman betambah umu setahun ley.

Kojap bonau maso berlalu. Dilahirkan hampir tigo dekad lalu di sebuah hospital Shah Alam (skrg hospital Avisena) di bawah Dr Norleen Salleh.

Ketiko itu kos bersalin masih murah. Alhamdulillah guno kemudahan syarikat. Terpakso membuek keputusan borek berhonti (resign) dari sebuah syarikat glamor demi kemudahan bersalin di hospital.

Ndak sampai tigo ribu pun. Kos bersalin normal kini? Jan cakaplah berapo.

Alhamdulillah, dapek juo service doktor pakar. Kebotulan pulo, Dr Norleen di bawah asuhan doktor pakar, maso belajau, di Poliklinik Ibukota tompek kelahiran abongnya kurang duo tahun sebolum itu. Alhamdulillah, begitulah ketontuan dari Allah.

Kakak, ayah ucapkan Selamat Ulang Tahun Kelahiran yg ke dot dot. Ayah doakan semoga dipanjangkan umur dalam ketaatan kpd NYA dan rosulullah, dimurahkan rezeki, diberi keselamatan dan kesihatan yg baiok always.

Kakak adalah pewaris ughang awak Kampau dan bertorusan selagi kakak ado waris pedusi.

Happy 25th Birthday To ANIS FARIHA (2023)

Today is the fifth day of May month in the year of 2023. It is a special day for both GiLoCatur aka Hj Saleh and Hjh Nor Azizah because 25 years ago our only daughter was born. 

Her name is Anis Fariha. At first GiLoCatur wanted to name her just Fariha means joy or happiness in Arabic. Since the first child was named with the letter F, her name should start with the letter F as well.

GiLoCatur felt something is missing and not right. Then GiLoCatur added ANIS for the first name. Now the name made sense and right. Thus, the daughter got her name registered in her Identity Card as Anis Fariha Binti Saleh.

Anis is the first one who were born in Shah Alam. Her elder brother, Fikri, was born in Kuala Lumpur. She had both her elementary and secondary schools only in Selangor. Then she continued her Diploma studies in Perak and came back to Selangor for her Degree. 

In terms of Kampar ethnicity, Anis carries the "SUKU" in her blood. Since Kampar ethnic uses a matriarch lineage, Anis got her Piliang suku from her mother. For her knowledge of Kampar tradition, GiLoCatur would like to record her lineage here. Anis Fariha > Nor Azizah > Dahniar > Saadiah > Bina (not sure her full name).

In someway, the matriarch lineage is connected to GiLoCatur's paternal grandma (Raini Binti Jamin) and great grandma  (Tando Binti Kaeo). GiLoCatur's dad knew about this much much better. He is a distant cousin to Bina (Anis mom's great grandma).

Hopefully this info will be kept in Anis' memory. As long as she has a daughter and grand daughter, the SUKU Piliang and matriarch lineage continues.

HAPPY 25th BORNDAY to GiLoCatur's only daughter, ANIS FARIHA! Ayah wishes you great health, "murah rezeki", happiness and joy. And wish you as "anak solehah" to us Ibu and Ayah. Ameen ameen ya robbal 'alameen.

FIDE Ratings of GiLoCatur's Children

It has been ages that GiLoCatur last updated this blog. GiLoCatur has been busy with life and work. Today, GiLoCatur has the urge to update the blog and rejuvenate it.

What tor write about?

GiLoCatur has not been active in the local chess activities. GiLoCatur's three children - Fikri, Anis and Fahim, are very seldom taking part in chess tournament. 

Fahim, GiLoCatur's youngest child has just finished his SPM exam about ten days ago. That means, he has completed his school days. 

In several hours, Fahim will take part in his first chess tournament after the last one, 2019 MSSM Chess Championship in last August.

Then on Monday, Fahim will fly to Pulau Pinang to take part in the Penang International Heritage Chess Championship from 9th until 15th December 2019. 

In this blog post, GiLoCatur would like to update on FIDE ratings of GiLoCatur's three children.

SKBJ Was "HEBAT CATUR"!

Today is the second day of the 3rd SKBJ Junior Chess Championship. There are two categories for the primary school pupils - Under 9 Years Old and Under 12 Years Old (ie 10 to 12 years old). 

Looking at the Ranking List after Round 6 as below, GiLoCatur is quite sad because "SKBJ HEBAT CATUR" looks gone. Only two SKBJ players in the Top 10 List for Under 9 category at 3rd and 7th place respectively. While no SKBJ player in the Top 10 List for Under 12 category.

Being the SKBJ pupils between 2003 to 2014, all the three of GiLoCatur's children were part of "SKBJ HEBAT CATUR".

Fikri (2008)

Having played chess for less than a year, Fikri was the only SKBJ L12 chess player managed to represent MSSD Petaling District in the 2008 MSSS Chess Championship. And he anchored the SKBJ L12 chess team for a Silver medal in the L12 team event. He made SKBJ proud for being on the podium for both Individual and Team Under 12 Boys event in the state championship. It was a bit unfortunate for him for not representing MSS Selangor in the MSSM Chess Championship after a play-off selection.

Anis Fariha (2008 - 2010)

Anis joined his elder brother in the MSSD chess championship in 2008 when she was in Standard 4. She missed to represent the Petaling Perdana MSSD after just being 6th in the final ranking P12 Individual event. Alhamdulillah, she was also on the podium after winning the fourth place in the team event with her three other team mates.

The 2009 and 2010 editions of the Petaling Perdana MSSD chess championship were the great moments for Anis and SKBJ. She helped SKBJ to become "HEBAT CATUR" after becoming champions for both the Individual and Team P12 events.

Anis were among several SKBJ pupils who represent the Petaling Perdana MSSD in the MSSS chess championship. She continued to bring glory for SKBJ in the MSSM chess championship after winning one Gold medal and one Silver medal. To the knowledge of GiLoCatur, the Gold medal won by Anis in the 2009 MSSM chess championship is the first one for SKBJ in the championship.

Fahim Al-Faqeh (2010 - 2014)

Unlike his elder brother and elder sister, Fahim began early in playing chess.  Fahim had represented SKBJ in the MSS chess championships since he was in Standard 2. 

Among Fahim's achievements in the MSS scholastic chess championship during the five years tenure for "SKBJ HEBAT CATUR" which include 5 consecutive years in MSSD (2010-2014), 4 consecutive years in MSSS (2011-2014) and two consecutive years in MSSM (2013 & 2014) are:

• Gold medal in L12 Individual event (2014, MSSD)
• Gold medal in L12 Individual event (2013, MSSS)
• Best Board medal in L12 team event (2013, MSSS)
• Gold medal in L12 Team event (three consecutive years, 2012, 2013, 2014, both MSSD and MSSS)
• Silver medal in L12 Team event (2011, MSSS)
• Silver medal in L12 Individual event (2014, MSSS)
• Bronze medal in L12 Individual event (2013, MSSD)
• 5th Place in L12 Individual event (2014, MSSM)

Both GiLoCatur and wife are very grateful to the Mighty Allah for these achievements by all the three of our children in chess especially in the MSS scholastic chess championships and for SKBJ "HEBAT CATUR" but, honestly, a bit frustrated for a lack of appreciation from the school and its administrators for all the contribution to make SKBJ becomes "HEBAT CATUR".

GiLoCatur's Family MCF Ratings

The Malaysian national ratings or MCF ratings is already out few days ago. You can get it from IA Lim Tse Pin's chess blog here. Surely, it took lots of efforts by Tse Pin to work out the long-awaited ratings. On behalf of the Malaysian chess community, GiLoCatur would like to say thank you to him.

So, how is your MCF rating? A plus? A minus? A no change?

As for GiLoCatur's family, only both Fikri and Anis had their ratings change. They both participated in the NJCC or National Junior Chess Championship last month. Fikri has a minus or decrease. His ratings is down 43 points to 1521. It is really a challenge for him to improve the rating to reach the 1650 mark. Fikri has to gain +129 points in order to achieve his MCF rating target for this year. While Anis surprisingly managed to gain 53 points to make her rating become 1391. It is closer to her rating target of 1500. GiLoCatur said "surprisingly" because she stopped her chess activities for nearly six months to focus on her UPSR exam.

GiLoCatur hopes that more and more nationally-rated chess tournaments are and will be organized this year. DO NOT AFRAID to participate in rated chess tournaments. DO YOU DARE! or ADA BRANI! Such tournaments are important for the Malaysian chess to improve and develop.

So, folks! Practice, practice, and practice. Learn and study more chess. Improve your national ratings. Show that you have improved. Show that you are better.
