Celebrating Silver Jubilee Anniversary - Year 8 (2003)

By the 8th year of the marriage, the small family of Hj Saleh and Hjh Azizah is complete with two boys and a girl. 

Below photos were taken in this year. Fikri was 7 years old, Anis was 5 years old and Fahim was one year old.

Celebrating Silver Jubilee Anniversary - Year 3 (1998)

The great moment in the third year of Hj Saleh and Hjh Azizah marriage is the birth of the second child and only daughter, ANIS FARIHA. Born in May, below is the cute photo of Anis in 1998.

Celebrating Silver Jubilee Anniversary - Year 1 (1996)

The very special moment in the second year of Hj Saleh and Hjh Nor Azizah marriage is ofcourse the birth of the first-born child and eldest son, FIKRI.

It is even more special when Fikri was born in the same month of our wedding in November. Staying in Taman Bidara Selayang that time, Fikri was born in a poliklinik located in Kuala Lumpur.

Celebrating Silver Jubilee Anniversary - Year 0 (1995)

Today is Saturday, 29th of February 2020.

It is a very special day because it comes only once in four years. GiLoCatur aka Hj Saleh wants to make it even more special day by celebrating a very special 25th Anniversary of SALEH ABD LATIF & NOR AZIZAH SULAIMAN Love tonight in Kuala Selangor by having a family dinner.

It began 25 years ago when Hj Saleh and Hjh Nor Azizah were married. Born in April 1968, Hj Saleh was 27 years old then having completed studies in Texas United States in Computer Science. Meanwhile, Hjh Nor Azizah was born in August 1970 and was going to complete her Maktab Perguruan studies in JB. She was 25 years old during that time.

Three important marriage events in the month of November 1995. First, the Akad Nikah. Second, the kenduri walimah at Azizah's residence in Simpang Lima, Sungai Besar. Third, the kenduri walimah at Saleh's residence in Sungai Tengar, Sabak Bernam.

Fahim's Final MSSM Chess Championship

GiLoCatur's youngest child, Fahim Al-Faqeh, represented MSS Negeri Sembilan in his final MSSM chess championship held at Universiti Mutimedia Cyberjaya from 1st until 8th August 2019. For his second-time representing MSSM Negeri Sembilan, Fahim decided to participate in the team event instead of the Individual event where his chance for podium is higher.

Fahim played the third board. His other L18 team members are Har Yun Hui (First Board), Praveen A/L Mahindran (Second Board) and Wong Jing Heng (Fourth Board).

For record, Fahim has played in six MSSM chess championship editions. Two years with MSS Selangor chess team, 2013 Edition in Taiping, Perak and 2014 Edition in Kuching Sarawak. Two years with MSSM WP KL chess team, 2015 Edition in Pulau Pinang and 2016 Edition in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Two years with MSS Negeri Sembilan chess team, 2018 Edition in Kuala Terengganu and 2019 Edition in Cyberjaya.

FIDE Ratings of GiLoCatur's Children

It has been ages that GiLoCatur last updated this blog. GiLoCatur has been busy with life and work. Today, GiLoCatur has the urge to update the blog and rejuvenate it.

What tor write about?

GiLoCatur has not been active in the local chess activities. GiLoCatur's three children - Fikri, Anis and Fahim, are very seldom taking part in chess tournament. 

Fahim, GiLoCatur's youngest child has just finished his SPM exam about ten days ago. That means, he has completed his school days. 

In several hours, Fahim will take part in his first chess tournament after the last one, 2019 MSSM Chess Championship in last August.

Then on Monday, Fahim will fly to Pulau Pinang to take part in the Penang International Heritage Chess Championship from 9th until 15th December 2019. 

In this blog post, GiLoCatur would like to update on FIDE ratings of GiLoCatur's three children.

THROWBACK MSSM Chess Championship For GiLoCatur's Family - Intro

Di antara waktu Maghrib dan Isyak semalam (Sabtu, 4 Ogos 2018), Hj Saleh memandu di Bandar Kelang melalui Hotel Goldcourse. 

Tiba-tiba ingatan dan memori Hj Saleh terimbau ke Kejohanan Catur MSSM 2009 yang dihost oleh MSS Negeri Selangor di mana hotel ini sebagai venuenya.

Kejohanan Catur MSSM Edisi 2009 adalah sangat bersejarah buat Hj Saleh, dikenali sebagai GiLoCatur di kalangan komuniti catur Malaysia, dan keluarga. Edisi 2009 inilah merupakan debut atau edisi sulung Hj Saleh sebagai seorang "chess parent" menghadiri dan mengikuti Kejohanan Catur MSSM.

Edisi 2018 akan bermula esok. Semua pemain-pemain catur yang mewakili MSS setiap negeri, termasuk Fahim Al-Faqeh ie anak bongsu Hj Saleh sudah bersedia untuk bertarung di atas papan catur untuk memberi kemenangan kepada pasukan negeri masing2. 

Kejohanan Catur MSSM 2018 merupakan edisi ke 9 bagi Hj Saleh (GiLoCatur) dan isteri. Hanya Edisi 2014 di Kuching, Sarawak Hj Saleh dan isteri tidak hadiri kejohanan memberi sokongan kepada anak2.

Insya Allah, Hj Saleh akan membuat "Throwback" bagi setiap edisi Kejohanan Catur MSSM (2009 - 2016) sebagai satu kenangan dan sejarah kepada keluarga Hj Saleh.

Adakah Hj Saleh akan berada di Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, venue Kejohanan Catur MSSM 2018 untuk memberi sokongan moral kepada Fahim Saleh seperti kebiasaan? Kita tunggu dan lihat nanti.

MASUM 2018

Surely, it has been ages GiLoCatur does not update this blog. The final of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 had just ended with France emerged as the champion. Being a long supporter of the French football team, it is a happy moment for GiLoCatur. 

History has been made. 

France has won for the second time after two decades. The first time was in 1998 FIFA World Cup France. The French team was captained by Didier Deschamps. The name sound familiar right. Yup, it is the Deschamps who is the manager or coach of the winning French football team. He becomes the the third person to win the FIFA World Cup as a player and a manager.

Let's forget about the FIFA World Cup.

MASUM 2018

Actually, GiLoCatur wants to write about MASUM 2018 Chess Championship. This year edition of the championship is hosted by Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). Chess is one of the sport events in the FASA 1 or First Phase.

Both Fikri and Anis will be taking part representing their university which UiTM. Fikri, GiLoCatur's eldest child and son will be playing for the third time. He made the debut playing in the championship in 2015. Then he took part in the 2016 edition. He skipped playing in last year edition. 

Meanwhile, Fikri's younger sister Anis made her debut in the MASUM championship in 2016 edition. He played as well in last year edition. 

GiLoCatur would like to wish ALL THE BEST and BEST OF LUCK to the UiTM MASUM 2018 chess team especially to Abang (ie Fikri) and Kakak (ie Anis).
