KUSESS CHESS OPEN 2014

A nationally-rated chess championship named "Kejohanan Catur Terbuka KUSESS 2014" or KUSESS Open Chess Championship in English will be held this coming weekend at Sekolah Menengah Sains Kuala Selangor. 

About 130 teams and 450 chess players have registered for the championship for two different events and categories. The events are school Team Open and Individual Rapid while the categories are Under 18 or Secondary School and Under 12 or Primary School.

2. Faks slip bank berserta Borang Penyertaan ke 03-32896631 (Nyatakan nama dan kategori) dan sahkan melalui telefon 03-32891868.  Sila bawa slip bank asal pada hari pertandingan.
3. Bayaran penyertaan tidak boleh dipindahkan atau dipulangkan.
4. Penggunaan telefon bimbit atau sebarang peralatan elektronik semasa pertandingan adalah tidak dibenarkan. Semua pegawai dan peserta mesti berpakaian kemas dan berkasut.
5. Penyertaan terhad. Penginapan & Makan – RM25.00 sehari. (Sila buat tempahan)
6. Keputusan penganjur adalah muktamad.  

In summary,

• The Team event which is only for both secondary (Under 18) and primary schools (Under 12) will be played on Saturday, 6th July 2013 while the Individual event for Open, secondary school and primary school categories will be played on  Sunday, 7th July 2013.
• Each team must be of the same school and may comprise of only boys or girls or mixed.
• Each team must has FOUR players.
• The fees : MYR 100 per team for secondary schools (U18), MYR 50 per team for primary schools (U12), Individual - MYR 30 (Open), MYR 25 (U18), MYR 20 (U12)
• The fees is non-returnable and non-transferable
• The total money prizes > MYR 4,890

Places To Visit Around Jeram and Kuala Selangor

Tomorrow, Jeram Chess Open will be played at a seafood restaurant named "Restoran Ikan Bakar Pantai Jeram". It is a national-rated event as promised by the organizer. Its format is a rapid game of G/25 (25 minute time-control per player) with 6 or 7 rounds of Swiss System. Insya Allah, GiLoCatur and family leave home in the early morning to reach the venue which is about an hour drive. So, GiLoCatur needs not to stay in a lodging near the venue. Maybe some participants will stay at a lodging for tomorrow's tourney. SEE YOU ALL THERE, TOMORROW!
